Cottage Renovation, St Neot

This project was to remove the lower section of wall dividing the kitchen and dining room.

The wall was an old cob type and we had to go back to the Structural Engineer and redesign the steel beams as we had to remove the wall from the floor to the wall plate. Accrows were used to support the first floor and directly above them more Accrows were used to support the roof.

The kitchen and hall walls were lined with plaster board and the whole ground floor was re-decorated. A new kitchen has been fitted and the floor tiled.

A fire place was demolished and a new one built. The lounge, dining room and conservatory floors will have oak flooring fitted.

To the front of the cottage a large section of timber decking has been fitted extending out over a sloping garden with two sets of steps and a large boulder incorporated.

To the side a lean-to walk way was re-roofed with Polly sheet and new timber supports.

The client lives in London so this project has been streched out to allow for his visits to site.

The design team was Christian Paul Ltd
