Carnmarth Hotel Dining Room, Newquay
This was a large and dated dining room requiring modernisation. The theme of this room had to follow closely in design to the C Bar we had already completed. The ceiling dropped by 450mm to hide a structural beam and to accommodate an inset circle with pink rope light The circle was set above the large bay window which has stunning sea views with all the walls and pillars being wall papered. This area will be licensed for weddings. To the left of the bay there is a fire place and adjacent wall completely tiled in natural stone strip with a feature partially glazed wall in between. All the walls were studded off and plaster boarded, the ceiling and walls were dry lined and decorated. Two new fire doors were fitted in the kitchen with pyro guard fire glass vision panels. An external store was demolished and a new fire escape door fitted. All electrical and audio work was part of the overall contract.Externally, a new boiler house has been built and the gas housing up-dated to match. The design team was Alistair Graham & Steve Coombe Absolute Design, Falmouth
